I wish I could tell you that I have dated men;
I wish I could tell you I used to cry because of that men often,
I wish I could tell you whom I want to get married;
I wish I could tell you about the chit for copying in the exam that I have carried,
I wish I could tell you when I went into depression because of a friend;
I wish I could tell you when I wanted to wear capris when they started to trend,
I wish I could tell you that I drink occasionally;
I wish I could tell you that even at home sometimes I feel lonely,
I wish I could tell you when I craved for freedom;
I wish I could tell you that I want your support when I needed some,
Dear papa, this gap existed because you never understood;
And the result of this gap can never fall out good.
Such raw emotion and honesty. Love the poem.

Those things we wish we could tell our parents…a girl NEEDS her daddy! You express it so poignantly.

It is indeed raw and honest. In the name of Jesus, may you get the support you need and a love that will fill your heart.

What in the name of Jesus did Jesus have do with this? This was about wanting communication by a girl with her mortal father. You read context into it that wasn’t there.

Beautiful… So raw and full of emotion… It captures how any typical girl of today feels like… Bcuz we are in the middle of the technological era and the beautiful laid-back golden ages… And our parents are as well; only they don’t have the flexibility to adapt to them…

My father isn’t alive anymore. I wish he were because there are things I could tell him now – things couldn’t tell my mother, either, when I was younger because she was still too much “the parent”. In middle age I could finally tell her all these things because I found out she was human, too, and made mistakes. We could talk about “almost” all of the things we hid.

I understand that feeling… May God bless you.

Such a heartfelt poem. Thank you for sharing and reminding those of us in more liberal societies how some of our gender still suffer in social shackles. Be the change you want to see.
